Danny Smith Goes Wire-to-Wire for OCRS Victory at Humboldt Speedway

Danny Smith Goes Wire-to-Wire for OCRS Victory at Humboldt Speedway

Humboldt, KS (April 5, 2025) — The AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories Oil Capital Racing Series brought its brand of open-wheel excitement to Humboldt Speedway on Saturday night, as 25 sprint cars filled the pits at the Kansas bullring for a cool and competitive spring evening of racing.

The night kicked off with three heat races that set the tone for the program. In Merak Group Heat 1, Andrew Deal led from the pole to take the win, while Danny Smith impressed with a strong run from 6th to finish 2nd. Kyle Clark topped the field in Same Day Auto Repair Heat 2, and Hayden Mabe claimed victory in the Patriot Lawn & Landscape Heat 3.

The top six in passing points advanced to the PuroClean Dash, which set the front of the field for the A-Feature. Gage Laney took the dash win, followed by Danny Smith, Andrew Deal, Kyle Clark, Hayden Mabe, and Jeremy Huish.

The B-Feature was the final opportunity for drivers to make the main event. Earning their way into the show were Noah Harris, Casey Wills, Sean McClelland, Jack Wagner, Jimmy Forester, and Fred Mattox.

In the AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories A-Feature, it was all Danny Smith. Starting from the front row, Smith jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, leading all 30 laps to score a dominant win. Gage Laney and Kyle Clark completed the podium with strong runs of their own.

Jack Wagner was the night’s Driven Midwest Performance Hard Charger, storming from 18th to 5th in a standout drive through the field.

The OCRS sprint cars continue their 2025 campaign tonight, June 21st, at 81 Speedway. Fans can catch every lap live or on demand with Start2Finish TV.
